As 2020 ends, and that means it is time to start brainstorming what your newest batch of New Year’s resolutions should be—if you have not already. While we support committing to eating well and staying active, there are a few beauty resolutions you can make in 2021.

Be Consistent with Cleansing

Cleansing should be a crucial, non-negotiable step in any skincare routine. This year make a vow to keep your cleansing routine consistent—you should cleanse every morning before applying your makeup for the day and every evening before heading to bed. In the morning, reach for a facial cleanser formulated for your skin type so that you can start things off on the right foot. You do not want to apply moisturizer or makeup on top of dirty skin.

Use A Face Serum Regularly

Face serum is a no-brainer if you want to have radiant, healthy-looking skin (and who does not?). These powerful, targeted treatments can go a long way in hydrating and toning your complexion. That is why, in our opinion, using a face serum every single morning and evening should be one of your skincare resolutions for 2021. After you use your facial cleanser every morning and evening, reach for a hyaluronic acid serum before you moisturize.

Take Your Makeup Off Every Night

One of the most significant beauties faux pas you can make to sleep in your makeup. When you sleep, your makeup can mix with the dirt and oils, which build on the surface of your skin, causing clogged pores. Blocked pores can result in breakouts and blackheads. Even if you are tired at night, at the very least, you can take off your makeup before hitting the hay. All you must do is saturate a cotton pad with the micellar water and wipe the pad across your face or use a balm to break up the oils and dirt.

Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize

Keeping your skin hydrated is critical in ensuring it looks its best. The key to maintaining hydration is applying moisturizer morning and night—regardless of your skin type.

Sun Protection is Important

No matter the time of year—or the weather—you should always take the time to apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher as directed. But do not stop there. You should also limit your time in the sun and cover up exposed areas in long sleeves, pants, a broad-brimmed hat, and UV-blocking sunglasses.

Start Using Anti-Aging Skin Care Products

It is never too early—or too late—to begin following an anti-aging skincare routine. With the right skincare products, you can help minimize aging signs, like fine lines and wrinkles, with continued use over time. Introduce products like retinol and eye cream to your routine, and you will see a reduction in the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

Do not Neglect Your Neck and Chest

You want your complexion to look radiant and healthy, but that aspiration should not stop with your face. Make one of your skincare resolutions for 2021 by taking better care of your neck and chest area.
